Nothing tops off a great dessert like whipped cream!
It has the power to make any dessert taste even better!! From pies, to sundaes, to tarts, whipped cream is my favorite topping!
After I learned how easy it is to make your own whipped cream, it made the store-bought versions unnecessary. All you need is a few ingredients on-hand!
My family makes homemade whipped cream for many desserts, so it always brings up happy memories.
TIPS:
Keep the whipping cream in the refrigerator until ready to use so that is cold as possible. If it is a hot day inside, chill mixing bowl as well!
Be careful not to over mix on high with stand mixer, that is why I recommend medium high speed instead.
Tastes best when eaten fresh! So when planning your meal, make whipped cream when ready to serve the dessert.
Enjoy the recipe below!
I use my Kitchen Aid mixer to make it an easy 1 bowl clean up!
Ingredients
½ cup confectioners powdered sugar
½ cup heavy whipping cream (36% milk fat)
Dash vanilla extract (optional)
Recipe
1. Place powdered sugar, vanilla and heavy whipping cream in mixer bowl.
2. Using wire wisk attachment, mix on medium high until firm peaks form. Be careful not to overbeat, just until the peaks form.
3. Voila! Now you are done. Carefully scoop whipped cream from mixer bowl using a spatula.
4. Whipped Cream will last in the refrigerator a few hours, but it is so easy I make it fresh!
